In Memory to My Mother.

The poem I chose was In Memory to My Mother, for this poem some of my annotations were: (the starting lines of the poem- Where is your grave?
Where did you die?
Why did you go away?
Why did you leave your little girl
on that rainy autumn day?) This made me think that she was confused and she was sad that her other was not there. I think this because she is younger and will not think of death (but with time being in the camp) etc...
A part of the poem that I thought that stood out to me was around the middle, the sentence was; And then.... then you were gone, I suffered, but I didn't cry. This stood out to me because it made me think what I would have done myself if i was in this situation. In fact what would you do? Making a personal connection with this story would be hard because I have never been through this situation with my mum being taken away, and the holocaust. So, no I don't think that I could make a personal connection, the only connection I think I could make is the feeling of having my mum taken away, because a world without my mum is basically living a lie. This poem made me feel like crying because thinking about that happening to me, I don't think I would have enough strength like she did.
